On Thursday, August 9, 1945, Nagasaki was wiped out by an atomic bomb. The Bells of Nagasaki is a 1949 book by Nagai Takashi. He describes his experiences as a survivor of the Atomic bombing of Nagasaki.
The song “Nagasaki no Kane” is based on the same named book by Nagai Takashi. It was written by Sato Ichiro and composed by Koseki Yuji.
Nagasaki no Kane
Even the most perfectly clear blue skies looking up, I remember sadness. It is very painful. Life is like a wave that comes over us, We are flowers of the field, living in vain. Consolation, and encouragement each other, for Nagasaki. Ah, Nagasaki's bells are ringing.
