Chiryu jinja is a Shinto shrine located in Kanda, Nishimachi, Chiryu City, Aichi Prefecture. This shrine is the origin of the name of Chiryu City. According to the shrine legend , the origin shrine was built by Yamato Takeru in the era of Emperor Keiko. The Shrine used to be called Chiryu Dai Myojin. It was one of the important three shrines of Tokaido during the Edo Period.
