A Kyodo News poll of Japan's 47 prefectural governors has found only 10 support the central government's plan to raise the consumption tax again in October 2015.
Among the others, Iwate Gov. Takuya Tasso was opposed to the hike to 10 percent and Yamagata Gov. Mieko Yoshimura sought to postpone the increase, while 35 governors urged the central government to make a prudent decision without specifying a preference.
