An 11-story-building under construction fell to the ground on Saturday outside of the southern city of Chennai.

Authorities say a worker was killed and at least 30 other people are trapped. Firefighters have been trying to rescue them.

On the same day, a 4-story apartment building collapsed in a residential area of the capital, New Delhi.

Nine people visited the burial ground in the northeastern district of Ranam on Saturday. They are in the country to offer prayers for their relatives, who died in an area that is now North Korea.

Dog saves man from bear

A 63-year-old man has been treated in hospital after surviving a bear attack in the city of Kanazawa in central Japan.

Takaki Tanaka was out walking his dog Chocolat on Saturday when the attack occurred.

The dog drove the bear off with his barking.

Tanaka suffered injuries to his head and hips but is reportedly not in critical condition.

His wife Tomiko says the bear was about 170 centimeters high.

She says she is not sure what would have happened if Chocolat had not been with her husband.
