US defense officials say a Russian fighter jet flew dangerously close to a US military aircraft in April.

Defense Department spokesperson Steve Warren spoke to reporters on Tuesday. He said a Russian Sukhoi-27 fighter intercepted a US Air Force reconnaissance plane in international airspace over the Sea of Okhotsk on April 23rd.

Warren said the Russian fighter jet came as close as 30 meters to the US aircraft, and showed off missiles on its underside.
