China's first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, anchored for the first time in a military port in Qingdao, eastern Shandong province on Wednesday morning, state media reported.

The anchoring marks that the aircraft carrier bay in Qingdao, which was built following a four-year construction, has already had logistic capacities, according to a statement from the military.

The Liaoning left the wharf of Dalian ship building company on Tuesday for Qingdao, conducting tests on its weapon system during the sail.

The presence of Shimajiri Aiko, a parliamentary secretary with the Cabinet Office, at the "Takeshima Day" ceremony marks the first time anyone from one of the top three posts in a government ministry has attended the event.

Three Chinese maritime surveillance ships entered Japanese territorial waters near the Senkaku Islands on Monday.

According to the Japan Coast Guard’s 11th regional headquarters in Naha, the three ships--the Haijian 46, Haijian 50 and Haijian 66--entered the contiguous zone around Uotsurijima on Sunday night.
