Mibu-dera is a Buddhist temple of the Ritsu Sect of Buddhism in Mibu,Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto-shi,Japan.
It is officially called Hodosanmai-ji.
The temple was established in 911 by the monk Kaiken of Onjo-ji temple for his mother.
The enshrined statue of the Bodhisattva Jizo was carved by Jocho, the best sculptor of Buddhist images during the Heian Period.
The statue was lost when fire struck the temple in 1962 burning down its Main Hal.
The present Jizo statue came from Toshodaiji Temple.
